December involved a bunch of polish and prep for the updated email extensions, as well as preparing for the future release of our new power-ups... and of course the never-ending polish and refinements. We then stepped back for a few weeks of beach, family and food to recoup and get ready for 2024!

- Fixed a bug where the workflow list would extend outside of the modal when linking tasks to any AccountKit record.
- Fixed a bug where placeholder values weren't populated.
- Fixed a bug where the archiving / unarchiving of clients wasn't always being written to the history.
- Fixed a bug where in list view you cannot access the button to add more comments when grouped by partner or manager.

Inter-Entity Loan - Fixes to report exporting.
- Summary movement report headings appearing at bottom of page + updated so every change doesn't update the report until the apply button is pressed.
- Summary report from list view - enable date selected on report layout, fixed issue with group select and export of reports with blank pages and title at bottom of second page.
- Summary report from group view - enabled creation from this view.
- Reconciliation Report - Moved date pickers so it doesn't go off screen, fixed issue where it'll fail to export after modifying the date several times, fixed issues with header / footer spacing.

Bug Fixing
- Whilst rolling out new encryption methodologies, uncovered and fixed some Nimbus bugs
- Fixed a bug where duplicating a system view would create a new system view.
- Fixed a bug where creating an excel file, it would initially show as a folder.
- Fixed the BGL link which had changed to domain update in BGL.
- Fixed a caching issue that would cause some print pages to time out after completion of a publish to the production server.
- Fixed a bug where the Xero icon wasn't turning orange in list views, despite the data still being synced.
- Fixed a bug where if you have no schedules visible, you had no ability to show archived schedules.
- Fixed a bug where an error would generate upon exporting from the important items register to any DMS.
- Fixed a bug where the current view settings don't get removed upon the deletion of a view.
- Fixed a bug where some tags weren't visible in the Mail Register.
- Fixed a bug that caused Division 7a tabs to load twice upon selection.

- Migration to new google framework (v2 to v3);

- Fixes associated with the "Balance at" date not showing correct status.

- Fixed a bug that would cause the numbers in the Inter-entity loan reconciliation report to cut-off the numbers.
- Fixed a bug that would cause text to disappear sometimes upon generation of a PDF report.
- Fixed a bug where changing of tabs within the Inter-entity loan and Division 7a would lose the applicable register reference and therefore not export the correct scheduled data.
- Fixed a bug where the quick copy for the address in the Correspondence tool didn't show the detail over multiple lines.

- When matching by ACN, don’t match clients that have been linked

- Also liaised with BGL to increase the timeout, as some tenants data couldn't complete their sync before BGL timed out the connection.

The month has been another period of polish, bug fixing, polish bug fixing ... repeat as we slowly but surely work our way towards a public launch. With the introduction of significant new features (like the DMS, PDF and permissions), often there needs to be a moment where we pause and go back and re-factor a bunch of elements impacted by the new additions. It's an important, albeit frustrating pause to progress, but must be done on a semi-regular basis to keep our code base clean and well structured.

- Created the initial connection with:
- Annature via Id and Key
- FuseSign via OAuth2.
- Added mobile number validation prior to sending to integration.
- Create shortlist of valid recipients based on the client selected (eg. related clients, contacts, partner and manager).
- Added ability to insert text templates.
- Added ability to send multiple PDF's and validate status via webhook for envelope statuses.
- Added ability to save back finalised PDF's back to the connected DMS with "(Signed) appended to the name.
- Created an e-signing dashboard with click through to envelope and made available on the dashboard and client group page.

- Added ability to the XPM sync for the sync to be a one way affair from XPM to AccountKit only. In line with this, made the following changes to various areas across AK.
- Disable all client / contact / prospect fields that map to XPM (Affiliates not impacted as they don't sync to XPM).
- Fields like Description, Business Name, Client Notes + non-system practice authorities are still editable as they don't sync back to XPM.
- Disable the ability to create new client / contact / prospects.
- Disable any posting of details from the ATO imports back to XPM.
- Added a warning to the client detail header and import modal where one way sync has been enabled.
- Visual refinements to the Workflow Cardwall view to make it nicer to the eye.
- Updated the "copy address" function to output in a format suited for a mail label.
- Added prompt for legacy users on the Franking Account Register to migrate to the new version of the tool.
- Rolled out a new PDF library for increased functionality and performance including fixes for elements that broke as part of the foll out (thankyou for your patience as we did this!)
- Upgrade to our AWS database infrastructure for increased performance.
- Refactored history component to work interchangeably across the old and new UI.
- Added a function to the Amortisation and Equipment Finance tool reports to show unexpired entries and current / non-current irrespective of the practice settings.
- Changed the visuals for all toggles to utilise a standard green and not the practice highlight colour. Confused people when the colour was grey.
- Focus the tag search menu when triggering from the shared toolbar + other behavioural refinements.
- Refine the visuals for the Client list BGL CAS icon menu

- Significant time has been spent around refactoring of all areas after intergrating a bunch of new tools and functionality.
- Updated the Fuel Tax Credit continue button to finalised when a schedule is rolled forward
- Added details to the (?) under practice settings for the SMS integration around the use of the Business Name. It needs to be a registered business name that has been authorised to be used within your Twillio account.
- Updated the timing of the generation of billing spreadsheet to align with the moment that stripe triggers a payment to ensure the payment matches the spreadsheet, including storing of the excel file.
- Added an email option for "share with" for the mail register type within Correspondence (didn't previously exist, as you couldn't share mail under the old mail register).

Bug fixing
- Fixed a bug in the Franking account register not updating the balance when deleting an entry.
- Fixed a bug where the (+) icon in the inter-entity loan summary grid would take you to the legacy UI.
- Fixed a bug with the client map causing the map to be out of focus in the new user interface. This would mean that keyboard commands and short cuts (like delete, copy etc) would not work at all.
- Fixed a bug with the links to the client map returning an error under the new UI.
- Fixed some display bugs in workflow that caused menus and pop-ups to appear out of place.
- Fixed a bug that meant a xero connection with an invalid token couldn't be disconnected.
- Created a workaround from a bug with the XPM sync that would sometimes return duplicate group names which we now capture and prevent. (including running a process to fix any duplicate groups).
- Fixed a bug that prevented the Sign in with Xero event being captured in the user history.
- Fixed a bug that caused the calculations of the final year with Division 7a to be wrong where manual payments have been made throughout the year. (noting the ATO calculator does some dodgy stuff here too). Note that this only impacts schedules that haven't had an entry posted prior to 22 June 2023.
- Fixed an issue preventing the Division 7a summary grid going full width.
- Refactor some elements of the Division 7a tool to function better within the new React UI.
- Fixed a bug with the BGL CAS360 matching process stopping when it hits an error, rather than continuuing.
- Fixed an issue where the notification for CAS360, SF260 and NowInfinity would have a link to the legacy UI, rather than the exceptions page in the new UI.
- Fixed a bug that would result in duplicate task names when dragging and re-ordering tasks within task templates.

Document Management System (in-progress)
- Re-write of the DMS component which overlays your selected DMS (Sharepoint, Onedrive, Dropbox etc) over to the new UI for greater speed and responsiveness. Initial pass replicated prior functionality (created folders, default folders, drag and drop files, preview files, open files for editing); Including updates for each of the supported DMS.
- Creation of a bunch of new functionality with the aim being to enable you to do most of what you need to client files and folders without leaving the DMS window across any tool or client group page.
- Inline options for single click to modify a folder or file name + preview documents;
- PDF editing functionality - this is huge;
- Ability to define folder structures and add with a click.

- Give more control over who has access to Practice Settings, User Maintenance and identifying who are the AccountKit Champions; (Note - Roles will now be downgraded to a label, with the Practice Administer role being made redundant)
- Set the view / edit / full permission rights over the client list.
- Set the view / edit / full permission rights over all tools
- New guest user type.
- This user can have explicit rights assigned to them. They can be locked down to specific clients or groups AND down to specific tools. (Eg. invite a Bookkeeper to have view only rights to equipment finance for a specific client entity).
- Similarly, they can be given view / edit / delete rights to specific clients.
- NOTE - guests will incur a cost per guest invited in. Cost TBD.

- Whilst previewed last month, the Franking Account Register has been released to the public. You will need to let us know when you're ready to transition to the new version so we can transition your schedules. In doing so, the old version of the tool will be disabled.
- Added the Divison 7A summary report to the new User Experience
- Fixed the colour of the background for selected lines in the Global Search
- Cleared the global search upon close; Previously the prior search would be there when you open it again.
- Enabled filtering by Practice Authorities in the client list.
- Updated the buttons in the correspondence register for emails and SMS to say "Send" rather than "Finalise" to make it clearer as to what's actually happening upon press.
- Added a function to enable a client to posted back to XPM from the XPM context menu.

- Fixed a bug where a workflow reminder was opening incorrectly in the full task pop-up.

- Fixed a bug where the copying of a view OR creating from current view wouldn't bring all the prior options in. Eg. Grouping.
- Fixed a bug with the client map where a client group name change would create issues upon updating a pre-existing diagram.
- Fixed a bug in workflow repeats, where selection a repeat practice authority target, it would cause others to disappear.
- Fixed a bug where the phone number for global search wouldn't work.
- Fixed a bug where the "Show in cash basis reports" option in the inter-entity loan wouldn't flow through to Xero.

Multi-office functionality
- Where disabled login by username & password, the temporary password has been removed and new instructions provided.
- Where multi-office functionality has been enabled, upon initial sync with XPM, the XPM custom fields are queried so the appropriate "Office Location" field can be selected.
- Significant works around XPM syncs where an office location has been selected, to optimise the sync process just to that office location (API doesn't allow syncing just clients based on a custom field - we have to work some magic to determine what to sync, to save syncing everything and only showing clients relevant to that office).
- Modifications to the XPM sync to automatically push back the relevant custom office location code upon client creation.

- Refined ability to lock down the ability to make Xero connections to Practice Administrators only.
- Added 2 options for sending through a spreadsheet with your subscription details, so you can assess Xero connections prior to and after renewal.
- Per ATO requirements, have implemented the ability to enforce a user only being able to be logged in from one location. It'll automatically log you out of other sessions

- When selecting a client from the Global search, it now closes so it doesn't remain open over the client detail page.

- Fixed a bug where the dynamic range selection wouldn't stick with the dynamic range, but instead revert back to a fixed range.

- Fixed some issues around creation of contacts and the way we sync given the updates to the way XPM handles multi-contacts now.
- Fixed a bug which caused the client naming convention of "Last name, First Name" to miss the comma seperator.

- Fixed an issue where the icon wouldn't turn orange upon initial sync.
- Fixed an issue where disconnecting wouldn't then remove the token from Xero thereby thinking the connection was still active.
- User Management fixes
- Fixed the error where inviting a new user that already exists with something sensible.
- Fixed the inability to create a new view
- Ensured the partner and manager views are set as favourites.
- Many amortisation fixes
- Creation of a new schedule and modifications to a schedule should automatically update the list view.
- If you changed the financial year in the settings to January, the dates would return non-sensible values.
- Refined the history to show logically named labels, exclusion of non-editable fields and updated to not capture changes upon initially creation. Just the creation event.
- Removed the save button from the settings area.
- Removed the validation text where there is insufficient allocations - this isn't possible and doesn't make sense.
- Changing the financial year shouldn't close the modal.

Correspondence Register
- When there is an incoming SMS, we now enable the creation of a CR record rather than going through the now defunct SMS centre. If the client is not found, users can assign a client later.
- Modify the button in the SMS notification email to link to the new CR record instead of the SMS center.
- Hotfixed the issue that the incoming SMS did not pick up the contact name in some cases.
- Detail area isn’t going full height to the shared toolbar.
- Also fix the problem that when the screen is small, the Froala overlaps the bottom toolbar
- Like old UI, need to show in the attendee list whether a person is a client, prospect, affiliate or contact. (this should be across all client lists, or an option to show this)

Added in functionality to enable limited utilisation of the Correspondence Register when not signed up to so can still be utilised sufficiently to get a good feel for the system before subscribing. Eg.
- All tenants should be able to use Mail Register for free (other types are grey out)
- During trial, they can create as many of any types as they like.

- Fix a bug where unmatching a voided entry incorrectly has locked period error from Xero.

Refinement of tools & elements polished and ready under the new UI

- Single Page Application (SPA - Dynamic URL for speedy page loading) has been through many rounds of improvements across the whole of AccountKit. Includes the client group and detail pages, practice settings, user maintenance and user profile pages.
- Professional development saw some extra tweaks to capture more details in the history record, the dynamic adding of affiliates from the record and various visual fixes.
- Fuel tax credit calculator has finished its refinements and is now good to go.
- Important items register has also finished all refinements ready for release resulting in a much more useable practical tool.
- Simple & Flexible loan calculator has been through all refinements ready for release.
- Correspondence register re-write is nearly complete; Now with functionality to share via in-app notifications, slack, teams and email + corresponding UI updates.
- Early Repayments, Compounding & Simple Retirement Calculators have gone through multiple iterations and are nearly ready for release.
- Equipment finance has had the "balance at" date added to the new UI.
- Client detail page now allows for multi-line addresses to align with XPM.
- Practice Settings have all been re-written:
- Re-organise the settings collating all tool related elements into one tab and practice registers in another
- Realtime update to colours and logo.
- Refinements to the Last name, First name client name convention settings and the way this integrates with XPM.
- With the integrations tab upgrade, the Slack and Teams integration was upgraded to the latest encryption methodologies and various tidy up and optimisations applied to all integrations

- We rolled back some prior changes and updated the reconciliation process that was causing some journals to be duplicated and incorrect entries matched.

- Fixed an issue where SMS errors were not shown when sending from the Correspondence Register including updating to ensure they're readable.
- Fixed an XPM sync issues where the import process would stall if there was an error updating a client due to the validation action. The process will now continue and notify of any issues.
- Fixed a bug where the workflow tool would re-assign the default folder for a client after changing folders within a task.
- Fixed a bug where merging duplicate clients could duplicate practice authorities.
- Fixed a bug that caused the colour picker boxes to wrap incorrectly.
- Fixed a bug that was causing phone and fax numbers to post back to XPM without spaces.

- If there's an XPM ID, user receives a message to restore manually in XPM

- Move the post back to XPM from modal to a new toggle that defaults to off “Enforce individual display name in XPM”. Only show the toggle if XPM is connected.
