Overview
This article is designed to assist you in the process of Importing, Exporting, and Print Previewing your Data. The walkthrough shows the import/export function with the People page, however, the process is the same throughout AccountKit.
Note - this import function with the People page is particularly useful for users who aren't XPM/Xero Tax users and want to administer their client database from within AccountKit. The import function is also useful for updating client details in bulk for those users who have existing clients in their list.

Importing Historical Data
Once you select import/update clients from the People page a pop-out menu like the one below. From here you can download the import template or if you have the template file already prepared you can select it for upload from your documents. Once the import file is selected, follow the prompts to import your data.

To ensure the highest rate of success when importing, we recommend downloading our import template file and arranging your data into the template. Alternatively, you can copy and paste the headings into your source data worksheet and remove any headings from your sheet that do not appear in our template. |
Exporting Historical Data
1. Exporting the Entire list
- Head to the 3 dot menuat the top right-hand side of the screen and find the export option.
- Confirm you would like to continue with the export. Where there are a significant number of entries, the export function will run in the background while you continue to work. Once complete, you will see the file download in the browser.
2. Exporting Specific Records
To export specific records you will need to filter the view to identify the records you would like to export. Then follow the same process as above to export the list.
Print Preview
To select Print Preview we will head to the Professional Development register for this example. To access the export function head to the 3 dot menu and select the export list option. This will open the print preview dialogue which will allow you to export in Excel and/or pdf and allow you to save it directly to your DMS and/or locally.
Note this functionality is not available in the following tools: Client details page, correspondence register & workflow.
