AccountKit has three plans: Compliance, Professional and Practice. Each one is priced per user per month with a five-user minimum, and each includes a set number of accounting connections and a one-off onboarding fee. This article explains how those pieces fit together so you can work out what your firm would pay. You can see every price, and switch currency, on our pricing page.
The three plans
Each plan builds on the one before it: Professional includes everything in Compliance, and Practice includes everything in Professional.
Compliance gives you the full suite of compliance tools, schedules and calculators. That includes the equipment finance, inter-entity loan and Division 7A tools, business structure diagrams, basic workflow and My Daily Plan.
Professional adds client communication, e-signing and advanced document management. You get e-sign integrations with autofiling, the Outlook and Gmail integrations, and workflow templates.
Practice is for standardising work, systems and processes across the whole firm. It adds repeating workflow templates, the Knowledge Centre, advanced permissions with restricted access groups, and the Your Financials dashboard.
Some tools are only available in Australia: the Division 7A tool, the franking account register, the fuel tax credit calculator, the ATO lodgements dashboard, and the NowInfinity and BGL dashboards. The full feature-by-plan table is in the plan comparison. If you're not sure which plan suits your firm, the plan finder on the same page will suggest one.
Prices in your region
Prices depend on where your firm is. Australia (AUD), New Zealand (NZD) and the rest of the world (USD) use the same numbers, each in its own currency. The United Kingdom has its own prices in GBP.
Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the world
Compliance: $55 a user a month, which is $275 a month for five users.
Professional: $87 a user a month, which is $435 a month for five users.
Practice: $119 a user a month, which is $595 a month for five users.
United Kingdom
Compliance: £20 a user a month, which is £100 a month for five users.
Professional: £40 a user a month, which is £200 a month for five users.
Practice: £60 a user a month, which is £300 a month for five users.
Australian prices are in AUD and exclude GST, so GST is added to your bill. NZD, GBP and USD prices have no tax added, so the price you see is the price you pay.
How the five-user minimum works
Every plan includes five users, and that's the smallest team you can pay for. If fewer than five people at your firm use AccountKit, you pay the five-user price. From the sixth user on, each person is added at the same per-user rate.
For example, a team of eight on Professional in Australia pays AUD $435 for the first five users, plus three extra users at AUD $87 each, which comes to AUD $696 a month plus GST.
Accounting connections
An accounting connection is a linked accounting organisation, such as a client's Xero organisation. Compliance includes 100 connections, Professional includes 120 and Practice includes 140.
If your firm goes over its plan's allowance, extra connections are added in packs of 20. A pack costs $60 a month in Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the world, or £30 a month in the United Kingdom. You'll find the details on our pricing page.
A connection that shows red because of a token issue, and isn't syncing, still counts, because it still holds the data from its last sync. It stops counting once you disconnect the client and the data is deleted.
We charge for extra connections to keep the price in line with the value you get and the cost of supporting it. It mostly affects firms with very few users and a lot of connections. If you add your whole team, the extra charge should be small or nothing.
QuickBooks support is coming soon, but it isn't available yet. AccountKit works with Xero today.
Guest users
Guest access is for clients or outsourced staff who only need to see specific clients and tools, with their edit rights locked down. It costs $20 a guest a month in Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the world, or £10 a guest a month in the United Kingdom.
The onboarding fee
Onboarding is mandatory when you sign up. It's a one-off fee that depends on your plan and region, and it includes hours of training and support with our team:
Compliance: $1,000 (£500 in the UK), with 4 hours of training and support.
Professional: $1,500 (£750 in the UK), with 6 hours of training and support.
Practice: $2,000 (£1,000 in the UK), with 8 hours of training and support.
The hours are split between training calls and support, and you use them within your first 90 days. Our article on onboarding and training explains what the sessions cover.
How billing works
AccountKit plans are monthly, and each month is paid in advance. Setup and regular updates are included with every plan. You can cancel at any time, but a month you've already paid for isn't refunded.
You don't need a credit card to start your free trial. We only ask for payment details when the trial ends, or sooner if you move to a paid plan. Our article on your 14-day free trial explains how it works.
If you have a question about your plan or your bill, such as payment options, invoices or changing plan, email [email protected] and the team will help.
